JAKARTA-The presence of the smart ed as a pilot project Pemeintah Region (Local Government) DKI Jakarta immediately raises the question of the electric car will be sold to the public Motherland?
Responding to this Deputy Director of Marketing PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia (MBI) Yuniadi Hartono directly spoke.
According to him the possibility of smart ed for general sale remains. "What used to test the Jakarta Government and this is just the initial stage of the production of Daimler AG to 40 countries in the world, well, this production will be done again in stages," he called when met at City Hall on Wednesday (24/11/2010) .
The next production Yuniadi said, will run from 2014. "While 2014 was the production even more, it is expected that these electric cars will enter Indonesia in 2015," he said.
Tells her of this trial once wanted to be a learning process before the car came in and marketed to the public official.
He also hoped the presence of the smart ed to Jakarta Government pilot project could open the eyes of all Indonesian people, including government leaders that mobility not only with conventional vehicles.
"We want to show everyone both in Jakarta and across Indonesia, that there are vehicles that can iniloh for mobility in big cities but still environmentally friendly," explained Yuniadi.
But unfortunately Yuniadi could not say how much revenue stamp which will be pegged to bateria lithium ion-powered smart is if marketed to the public.
"If the conventional-engined smart we'll start apsarkan December with prices starting at Rp219 million. But for the electricity we do not yet know how the policies of the government," he said. But he was sure, the existence of the smart ed will surely open new horizons for the automobile industry in the country.
