Nissan Micra Diesel would be Marketed in India
INDIA-After the success with the launch of the Micra model in the Indian market some time ago, finally making Nissan encouraged to spawn different versions.
Japanese car manufacturers are planning to take the decision to launch a diesel version in the Indian market, a few months after the gasoline version.
The new Micra will use a capacity of 1,500 cc diesel engine. "India will become the first country to have a diesel engine version K9K 1.500cc," said CEO of Nissan Motor India, Kiminobu Tokuyama was quoted as saying by the Economic Times of India.
"Micra hatchback will be present with the intelligent key, immobilizer, key engine start-stop system and mirrors that can be folded electrically," continued Kiminobu.
Introduced at the Geneva Auto Show in March, Micra will eventually be marketed in 160 countries.
So far, the car is already available with two engine options, the first 3-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 1200 cc.
The machine has a power of 80 ps and torque of 108Nm and direct injection. There was also a supercharged 1200 cc engine that has a power of 98 ps and torque of 142Nm.
Both engines are available with 5-speed manual gearbox or transmission Nissan Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT).
"The success of gasoline-powered Micra in the Indian market has given us the confidence to introduce a diesel variant within six months after its release. This was done in order to respond to requests that quite a lot." Kiminobu said.
Overall, Nissan plans to sell more than 110,000 units between the years 2010-2011 Micra
